Pastor Shirley Robinson Receives WVU MLK Achievement Award
The WVU Center for Black Culture and Research celebrated the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual MLK Day Unity Breakfast Monday (Jan. 16). The MLK Scholarship Award, awarded annually to a WVU student who demonstrates an active interest and meaningful involvement in areas of human rights, civil rights and social justice, was presented to Roselyn Edinam Kumazah. The MLK Achievement Award, given to the nominee from West Virginia who best exemplifies working to fulfill King’s commitment, was presented to Pastor Shirley D. Robinson. This year’s keynote speakers was Ernest Green from the historic Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
